The season started out hopeful, in late December, but turned out to be as shitty as usual, with only one good month of riding. If it wasn't for February, there wouldn't even be a winter in Michigan...and I'm talking Upper Peninsula here, not D-Town.

But, its time now to forget about the shitty winter and get in to March Madness! The Spartans were given a generous 6 seed and will face George Mason at 7:10pm on St. Patty's day. This is the time of year where Michigan State will redeem their crappy season or die trying. I should be sufficiently drunk for the victory on Friday with just enough time to recover for Sunday's beating of UNC and our entry into the sweet 16!

Beer gooooood

I haven't written in my Beer category for a while so i figure its due for some content. Some of my favorite beverages as of late have been a variety tastes depending on the occasion. On tap at the house right now is Grolsch. Grolsch IS Dutch beer. It's got a great hoppy flavor and packs a decent punch...oh, and a word of advice on this great beer, it does not go well with large quantities of Jagermeister...the two together can cause memory loss, extreme happiness, and excessive urination...or at least I'm told ;)... In the fridge, i've got a few varieties. I alway keep a decent supply Rock Green Light, which makes for a refreshing beverage that does not aggrevate the post college beer gut, though most beer snobs suggest that light beers like green light are a waste of time but i disagree...Its hard to find a good tasting light beer and I belive green light is just that. I also have some Boddingtons Ale, which is a great nitrogen english pub ale and makes for a good companion to Pizza. Its got a nice creamy head and a good taste (though I've had better). And last but not least, I still have some Bells Oberon, which is a summer pale wheat ale brewed in Kalamazoo Michigan and is my favorite out of the bunch. Its hard to drink a better beer than Oberon, so if you have the means, I highly recommend picking some up.

Real Men of Genius, except for the Bud Light

Grab a room temperature or slightly colder 12oz can of beer.

Pay close attention to step 1 because if the beer is too cold you will be crying to mommy and looking like a dumb-ass in the process.

Obtain a cutting tool, i would recommend a sharp pocket knife. Some like to use a key or a pen but this is an obvious rookie move or an act of desperation.

Cut a hole near the bottom of the can and bend the aluminum to form an opening about 1/2 in in diameter. Continue to hold it horizontally.

Seal the hole with your thumb and hold the can upright.

Raise the can to your mouth and very quickly remove your thumb while simultaneously opening the tab at the top.

Repeat steps 1-6 **

** caution, step 7 may cause habitual a drinking problem and excessive urination

What's that smell?

Its the smell of Tailgating season of course! For those outside of the Midwest, Tailgating is the act of moving your living room to a nice spot on your university's campus grounds in order to show support for your team while getting *** faced to the point of blindness, in all weather conditions, for no less that 12 hours. Sound like fun? you're goddamn right it is!

In my experience, the whole day can be summed up into a nice little phrase once stated to me by a portly police officer holding a breathalyzer: “You're Fucked Up!”

Scottie doesn't know!

Just returned home from my very own 2 week Euro-trip and learned many valuable lessons from my trip abroad.

Scandinavian chicks are all hot and blond.

Russia is the new Mexico.

Babushka's are just like they sound.

German bier IS the best.

English is the new Spanish.

Germans don't even know what lederhosen is.

A cafe is a bar, a resturant, a pub, a bathroom, a parking
deck, and any other public place in europe; unless of course it's a
boutique!!!

They DO take Visa contrary to the American Express propaganda.

Mieke no longer lives in Germany :(

and finally, Brit's do not speak english.
