  • I don't exist

I just wanted to let everyone know that according to FedEx (for the 7th time), my address does not exist. So, though I say I'm typing this from home, its really from a land far far away where know FedEx truck has gone before. Their consistent incompetence continues to amaze me as they still cannot manage to deliver a package which, last time i checked, happed to be what they advertised on tv. If you've ever received a package from FedEx then please know that it was divine intervention or a phone call to UPS for directions that got it there.

If you itching to ship a package call 800-PICK UPS, this is a special magical number that will allow your packages to arrive at their destination.
  • DirecTV and HD

I just read that DirecTv just launched 2 of its next generation satellites in to orbit on Tuesday. This is big news for HD lovers especially those in the 12 largest markets which will receive the new programmings as early as this fall (Detroit is one of them!). DirecTv promises to offers local HD stations in those markets as well as dozens of new national HD programming. Also, in 2007, they plan to launch the remaining 2 satellites which, combined with the previous 2, can offer over 1500 HD channels. They stated that they will be using mpeg4 for the a/v compression which will produce a much higher quality picture than the current mpeg 1/2 cable standards.

I left DirecTv a little over a year ago for Dish but with all this new stuff coming this fall I might just have to switch back. Its about time these satellite companies got their *** together! Especially since I refuse to give comcast any of my money.
  • I love banks! Especially ones with fractions in the title!

I just have a  little something I wanted to say... *** fifth thirds bank in the goat ass!! What kind of name for a bank is that anyway... Its called five thirds last time i checked... What a bunch of dumbasses. If you have an account there get out while you still can otherwise you'll wake up every morning with your ass feeling like you fell down some stairs last night.
  • New room

We, for the most part, finished our little remodel project over the weekend and  posted some new pictures here.
  • VS 2005 beta 2

Its out... so if you haven't downloaded it yet then get to it.

I also read that you can get a free copy via mail at the following link: http://msdn.microsoft.com/getthebetas/
  • Network and server migration

Today I'll be migrating my network equipment and servers to their new custom crafted server rack located in the newly remodeled room on the first floor of our condo. The move will also bring with it some upgrades like 1 hour of battery backup for all equipment and servers with safe shutdown if power does not return, a new dedicated 2003 file server running sata raid 5 for serving up those files nice and quick, and finally a 100% gigabit internal network so now when I'm spouting *** on xbox live or running for my life in WoW there wont be any hiccups ;).

One thing to note for you dotNetWookie blog fanatics (yeah right), during the move the site and all the related services (mail, etc.) will be down for up to 2 hours starting between 12:30 and 1:30 pm est.

  • dotNetWookie Blog extension 1.0

I started working on the new dotNetWookie Blog Extension (Formerly .Text blog extension) last night and wanted to share some of the features I plan on implementing in the new version.
    • Keeping existing support for .Text .95, i.e. new post and category selection support.
    • Adding support for community server 1.0 Blogs.
      • Post to any authorized blog.
      • Post as article.
      • Multiple category selection.
    • Template building\editing via a rich text box
    • Template\post preview.
    • Edit post before sending (not sure on this one yet since most blogs have this ability and I could simply link to it as before).
    • Also going to try and get all of this in to one assembly for easy distribution.
I'm welcome to suggestions as well, so please feel free.

Not sure when I'll be done, but i plan on giving it a lot of my free time over the next week or two.
  • Illinois and North Carolina, whoopidy doo!!

Well, I was wrong on both of my Saturday predictions so I'm glad I don't get paid for this ***. I'm sort of glad Illinois is still in it just for Big Tens sake but, other than that, I really don't care who wins tonight.

Saturday's State game was a tough one to watch, but I'm really proud of those guys and what they were able to accomplish this year despite all the criticism. Already looking forward to next year, Go Spartans!
  • Remodel Time

Well, we starting construction on our remodel today. We're creating a new room in our condo by knocking down the wall in the first floor utility room exposing it to the garage, then building a new wall in the garage to close it off. Great thing is, we finished all the rough today (knock down and built new wall), all thats left is electric, drywall, some new carpet, and a coat of paint. Should look pretty good when its done and will add another 315 square feet of livable space to the house.

Hayley is taking pictures of the transformation so I'm going to post them to a gallery as soon as we get them off the digital camera.

** update, here's the link to the gallery.
